This is a novel by Kim Dong-in, serialized in The Chosun Ilbo from April 1933 to February  1934. This historical novel focuses on and heroizes Heungseon Daewongun, who seized power in late Joseon. It shows Kim Dong-in’s keen sense of history, as it presents a sharp image of the times in late Joseon.
