1982년에 발표한 후, 1990년에 출간된 윤흥길의 장편소설로 한구과 일본에서 동시 출간되었다. 작품은 익산의 미륵산을 배경으로 집과 용당제의 어머니를 통해 모성신화를 드러내고 있다. 작가 특유의 치밀한 서사가 인상적인 작품이다.

This novel by Yun Heunggil was first released in 1982, and it was published in Korea and Japan in 1990. The story is set on Mireuksan Mountain, which is located in Iksan, and begins with the death of the mother. As the narrator leaves to attend his mother’s funeral, he begins to piece together her tragic life.
