1938년 출간된 <조선아동문학집>에 실린 이태준의 짧은 동화를 2004년 김동성작가의 그림과 함께 풀어낸 동화집이다. 이 작품은 정류장에서 엄마를 기다리는 아이의 이야기다. 주인공인 아이가 정류장에서 엄마를 기다리다가 전차의 차장에게 엄마가 언제 오는지 물어보는 것이 이야기의 전부이지만, 엄마를 기다리는 아이의 마음이 뭉클하게 전해진다.

This children’s short story by Yi Tae Jun was originally included in A Collection of Children’s Stories in Joseon published in 1938, and it was republished in 2004 with illustrations by Kim Dong-seong. The main character in the story waits for his mother at the bus stop, and he asks the driver when his mother will come. Although the story is simple, it clearly conveys the child’s love for his mother.
