1998년에 출간된 신경림 시인의 시집이다. 표제작인 <어머니와 할머니의 실루엣>을 포함하여 63편의 시가 수록되어 있다. 시인은 이 시집을 통해 평범한 사람들에 대한 연민을 넘어서 무한한 신뢰를 보내는 태도를 견지한다. 서로 갈등하고 오해하지만, 한편으로 이 땅의 모든 존재는 같은 운명 속에서 살아간다는 사실을 발견한다. 강요하지 않으면서도 자신의 생각을 잔잔히 드러냄으로써 독자들을 설득하는 시집이라 평가된다.

Published in 1998, this collection by Shin Kyeong-nim introduces 63 of his poems including the title poem “The Silhouette of Mother and Grandmother.” With unwavering trust in and compassion for people, the poet elucidates the idea that the people of this world sometimes misunderstand and find themselves in conflict with one another, but they are fated to live together.  He does not force this idea upon his readers, but he shares it in the language of a gentle reminder.
