2001년에 출간된 나희덕 시인의 네 번째 시집이다. 표제작인 <어두워진다는 것>을 포함하여 55편의 시가 4부로 나뉘어 수록되어 있다. 이 시집에서는 시인 특유의 '식물성'이 두드러지게 나타나며 시의 깊이를 더하고 있다. 특히 어둠 속에서, 혹은 어둠이 깔리기 전에 들리는 소리의 이미지를 통해 아픔을 치유하고자 하는 시인의 욕망이 드러난다.

This fourth collection of Ra Heeduk’s poems was published in 1984. Divided into four parts, the collection introduces 55 of her poems including the title poem “What Is Darkening.” Using the unique images of trees, roots, and plants to add layers of meaning in her poems, Ra aims to heal and empower by discriminating among different cries before twilight settles.
