1984년에 출간된 제8회 이상문학상 수상작품집이다. 표제작이자 대상을 받은 <어두운 기억의 저편>은 이균영의 단편소설이다. 한국전쟁으로 인해 발생한 이산가족의 문제를 다루고 있다. 역사적인 문제를 개인의 일상을 통해 자연스럽게 다루고 있다는 평가를 받는다.

Published in 1984, this is the eighth Yi Sang Literary Award short story collection, and the title story, “The Other Side of Dark Remembrance” by Lee Gyunyeong, deals with the division of North and South Korea, and the families separated after the Korean War. In this story, the writer looks at the ongoing historical trauma from individuals’ points of view.
