    This is an introductory booklet on Kim Young-ha, produced for the 2005 Frankfurt Book Fair, where Korea participated as the Guest of Honor for the first time and hosted the Korean Literature Tour Program. The author was one of the 62 delegates selected by LTI Korea’s Delegation Selection Committee on the basis of the following criteria: representativeness, existing publications of translated works, and overseas marketability. The entire literature program was co-organized by the LTI Korea, the Frankfurt Book Fair Organizing Committee, Daesan Cultural Foundation, Paradise Cultural Foundation and the International Communication Foundation (ICF). The events started at the Leipzig Book Fair in March and finished with the Guest of Honor Program in October. Kim Young-ha participated in literary events in March and the main program in October. This 21-page booklet consists of: ‘Author’s Literary World’, ‘Analysis of I Have the Right to Destroy Myself’, ‘Excerpt’, ‘Voices of the Author and Critics’, ‘Biography’ and ‘Bibliography’. The material was put together and analyzed by Kim Dong-shik, and translated by Kang Kyung-ah. The photographs were taken by Han Young-hee. Kim Young-ha participated in literary events in Leipzig and Weimar in March and then at Frankfurt House of Literature, Mousonturm and Cologne House of Literature in October. The German translation of I Have the Right to Destroy Myself (German title: Sterbehelfer) was published in Germany in 2013.

Kyung-sook Shin participated in literary events in Erlangen, Wien (June), Frankfurt House of Literature and Bad Homburg (October). The German translation of The Girl Who Wrote Loneliness was published by Pendragon in 2011.

Youn Dae-Nyeong participated in literary events in Bonn and Düsseldorf (April) and at the Frankfurt Book Fair Korean Pavilion and Stadtbücherei Kronberg (October). Youn’s work ‘Cheonjigan’ was published in Hefte fuer ostasiatische Literatur 58 in 2015.

In 2019, Korea was the Guest of Honour at Sweden’s Göteborg Book Fair, whereby a number of Korean writers interacted with readers, scholars and writers from all over the world. KLN Vol. 46 contains an essay by Kim Soom, one of the participating writers at the Göteborg Book Fair.

The German translation of her work A Gift from a Bird was published in 2005.

The material was put together and analyzed by the literary critic Shin Hyung-cheol, and translated by Kang Yeo-Kyu. The photographs were taken by Han Young-hee. The booklet contains eight poems including ‘37’ translated in German. Hwang Ji-u participated in literary events in Leipzig (March, Leipzig Book Fair), Düsseldorf (April), Berlin (September), Frankfurt House of Literature and Romanfabrik (October). Several of his works have been published in German including: One Day I Will Sit in a Dimly-Lit Bar (2003) and The Shadow of the Fish (2006).

    This is an introductory booklet on novelist Kim Young-ha, produced for literary events at the Guadalajara International Book Fair and a nearby university—held between November 25 and December 4. Kim Young-ha participated in literary events at University of Guadalajara (November 27) and Autonomous University of Nayarit (November 28) where he introduced his short story “Move”. In addition, he interacted with short story writers from other parts of the world at Salón 3 (FIL event hall). From March to December, 2012, students at Autonomous University of Nayarit were invited to participate in a Korean literature essay contest, and Kim Young-ha attended the award ceremony on November 28. In addition, he was interviewed by five journalists including Mireya Espinosa, Marcel Ventura, and Silvina Friera and appeared on the radio program “Radio Nacional de Chile”. This 43-page booklet consists of: “About the Author’s Literary World”, “About the Work”, “Excerpt”, “Essay”, “Voices of the Author and Critics”, “Biography” and “Bibliography”.
