1955년 <문학예술>에 발표한 이호철의 단편소설이다. 작품은 한국전쟁으로 인해 어쩔 수 없이 고향을 떠나야 하는 네 명의 친구들을 주인공으로 삼은 이야기다. 주인공들은 고향을 떠나 타향에서 살아남기 위해 각자 고투를 하며 변해가는 모습을 작가는 인간적인 시각에서 그려내고 있다.

This short story by Lee Ho-cheol was published in Literature and Art in 1955. It is the story of four friends who are forced to leave their hometown due to the Korean War, and what they have to do in order to survive in completely new surroundings.
