Plot

After quitting her job at a newspaper company, the narrator sees her husband behaving strangely, such as wearing winter clothes in the summer. Thinking that he is suffering from a mental disorder, she pays a visit to her older sister, who is married to a doctor. However, as the narrator explains to her sister about her husband's derangement, she becomes confused as to what is really strange and bizarre.

This is a short story by Chae Man Sik, published in Jogwang in October 1938. Through an experimental form, in which the entire story progresses through the conversation between the two characters, it maximizes the author’s unique satirical tone.

1938년10월 잡지<조광>에 발표한 채만식의 단편 소설이다. 이 작품은 형식실험(두 인물의 대화만으로 이야기를 전개)을 통해 작가 특유의 풍자의식을 극대화시켰다는 평을 받는다.
