Plot

The main character is a novelist who hasn’t written anything for a long time. His wife is patiently and ardently waiting for him to start writing again. The man starts to work at a neighborhood fitness center, and his wife despairs at having become the wife of a man who has been reduced to a nobody.

2004년에 출간된 서영은의 단편소설로 한국어와 영어로 번역한 작품을 함께 묶었다. 작품은 소설을 쓸 수 없는 작가가 자신의 상항을 극복해내는 과정과 작가인 남편이 원하는 작품을 쓰지 못하는 것에 대해 절망하는 아내의 고통을 다루고 있다.
