2007년에 출간된 한국의 소설가 신경숙과 일본의 소설가 쓰시마 유코의 에세이다. 2006년 봄부터 1년 동안 각각 <현대문학>과 <스바루>에 동시에 연재했던 것을 책으로 묶어낸 것이다. 책은 두 작가의 유년시절부터 소설가로 살아가는 현재의 삶과 각자의 가족, 문학, 사회 등을 주제로 주고받은 편지글 형식의 에세이다.

This is a collection of essays by Kyung-sook Shin and Yuko Tsushima which was published in 2007. The essays were originally serialized and published in Modern Literature in Korea and in the literary magazine Subaru in Japan. The two novelists write about their childhood, their life as novelists, their family, and their thoughts on literature and society.
