Plot

A husband accidentally reads his wife's diary and comes to understands his wife, who is exhausted from housework, and looks back on himself, who has been indifferent to the family.

A partial parody of Hyun Jin-geon's short story of the same title, published in 1921. While focusing on the subject matter of a poor and deprived woman, the book paints the changes in her consciousness as she comes to recognize the contradictions in the patriarchal family structure through her writing and attempts to escape from the loss of self.

1921년 <개벽>에 발표된 현진건의 단편소설이다. 물질적인 가치보다 정신적인 가치를 추구하는 부부의 모습을 통해 참다운 가정의 모습을 제시했다.
