Plot

In 1778, Lee Myeong-bang, who works at the Royal Investigations Bureau, is in charge of investigating a serial murder case. Based on the clue of a novel found at the scene of the murder, he points to the writer Cheong Un-mong as the culprit and executes him. However, after sometime, while meeting with the “Baektap Scholars,” he learns that Cheong Un-mong is not the culprit. As if proving the words of the Baektap Scholars as true, another murder takes place soon after, and Lee Myeong-bang becomes troubled.
