1961년에 출간된 조병화의 시집이다. 시인은 퇴락과 죽음으로 이어지는 절망적 삶을 밤의 이미지로 형상화했다. 인간의 조건과 삶의 의미 그리고 죽음에 대한 고찰 등을 일상의 언어로 다뤄왔던 시인의 초기 시집에 해당한다.

This collection of some of Cho Byung-hwa’s early poems was published in 1961, and the poet metaphorically uses night to represent the deterioration of life and despair, which leads only to death. In a simple poetic voice, the poet touches upon the meaning of life, death, and human nature.
