1995년에 출간된 홍성원의 단편소설집이다. 표제작인 <무사와 악사>와 <주말여행>, <남도 기행> 등 11편의 단편소설이 수록되어 있다. 홍성원의 작품들은 인물의 굵직한 성격, 대담한 생략, 간명하게 핵심을 보여주는 문체를 특징으로 하여, 이른바 '남성문학'을 추구한다고 평가된다.

Published in 1995, this collection introduces 11 stories by Hong Sung-won, including the title story “Fighter and Musician,” “Weekend Outing,” and “Record of a Journey to the South.”  His characters are mostly men with bold personalities who are portrayed with only essential and necessary descriptions. Critics have often described Hong’s writing as representative of “masculine literature.”
