This is a novel published by Eulyu Munhwasa in 1963. The story spans decades from the end of the Japanese occupation of Korea to the Korean War. The psychology of female characters such as Nam-hui and Akiko is described in depth, portraying the tragic life of women. It is recognized for realistically depicting the problems of individuals’ lives and freedom resulting from the changes of the times.
