Plot

The nun tells the priest that Hong Magdalena wishes to have confession. But the priest refuses on the grounds that she is a prostitute and will only give a nominal offering to the church. Later on, residents of a shanty town who oppose the demolition of their town and the nun requests the priest to help their cause, he refuses them on similar grounds and turns them away.

This is a play written by Kim Ji-ha in 1973. It criticizes the corrupt institution of Christianity that ignores people in poverty, people with disabilities, prostitutes, lepers, and other marginalized and disadvantaged people in Korean society in the 1970s.

1973년에 김지하가 발표한 희곡이다. 1970년대 가난하고 장애를 가진 사람들과 창녀와 한센병 환자 등 버려지고 소외당한 사람들을 외면하는 부패한 기독교 정신을 비판한 작품이다.
