This song was composed by Yeo-ok after listening to a story her husband Jago tells her about a man with white, disheveled hair jumping into the sea. His wife tries to stop him, but he jumps to his death, and she follows him.

창작연대 미상의 고대가요다. '공후인'이라는 별칭으로 불리기도 한다. 이름모를 백수광부(白首狂夫)의 아내가 남편을 따라 세상을 버린 이야기를 노래로 만든 것이라고 전해진다. 이야기 속 백수광부의 죽음에는 당대의 주술적·신화적 세계관이 토대를 이루고 있다.

It is the oldest surviving song in Korean literature, and it is also known as “Gonghuin.” It tells the story of a wife who follows her husband to death when he jumps into the sea. The death of the crazy old man with white hair in the story is told against the background of a shamanic and supernatural world.
