2006년 출간된 김훈의 첫 소설집이다. <화장>, <언니의 폐경>, <강산무진>을 포함하여 총 8편의 단편이 수록되어 있다. 표제작인 <강산무진>은 죽음을 앞둔 중년 남성이 자신의 재산을 처분하고 가족들에게 나눠주느라 골몰하는 내용을 다룬다. 삶의 허무를 역설적으로 드러내고 있다는 평가를 받는다.

This collection of Kim Hoon’s short stories was published in 2006, and it includes “From Powder to Powder,” “The Menopause of My Older Sister,” “Rivers and Mountains Without End,” and five more short stories. The short story “Rivers and Mountains Without End” deals with the futility of life through the middle-aged main character who is preoccupied with dividing his property and assets among his family as he prepares for his impending death.
