Yi Hyunseok was born in Incheon in 1984, and grewup in Daegu. He keeps his day job as a doctor, and writes fiction on weekends.He debuted as a writer in 2017 by winning the JoongAng New Writer’s Award. Heis the author of the short story collection In Another World—the titularstory of which earned him the 11th Young Writer’s Award in 2020. His vivid andvariegated stories that delve into various realistic social issues have won thehearts of many readers.

1984년 인천에서 태어나 대구에서 성장하였다. 본업은 의사이며, 주말을이용해 창작활동을 이어가고 있다. 2017년부터 중앙신인문학상을 통해 작품을 발표하기 시작했다. 소설집으로 『다른 세계에서도』가 있으며 2020년 동명의 단편으로제11회 젊은작가상을 수상했다. 우리 사회가 당면한 다양하면서도현실적인 사회 이슈를 소설의 소재로 삼아 다채롭고 입체적인 이야기를 펼치며 많은 사람들의 공감을 얻고 있다.
