Hong Young-nyeo (1916-2011) was a South Korean essayist who learned to read and write at the age of seventy. Her children collected the essays she wrote into the 1995 collection Gaseumi hago sipeotdeon iyagi (가슴이 하고 싶었던 이야기 The Stories My Heart Wanted to Tell). Hong starred in the episode “That Autumn Yard” of the KBS documentary series Screening Humanity in November 2005.

홍영녀(1916~2011)는 한국의 수필가다. 70세가 다 되어 한글을 배우고 글을 쓰기 시작했다. 이후 꾸준히 써온 글을 자녀들이 엮어 1995년 수필집 《가슴이 하고 싶었던 이야기》를 펴냈다.  2005년 11월 KBS '인간극장' '그 가을의 뜨락' 편 주인공으로 등장하여 널리 알려졌다. 


洪荣女(1916-2011)，韩国随笔作家。作家年近70，才开始学习韩文和写作。1995年子女将其创作的作品编撰成书，推出了随笔集《心里曾经想说的话》（《가슴이 하고 싶었던 이야기》）。2005年11月KBS人间剧场《那年秋天的庭院》对洪荣女的事迹进行报道后，她才开始为大众所知。
