This collection features three works of Korean classical literature that still resonate deeply with Koreans today—“Chunhyangjeon” (춘향전 The tale of Chunhyang), “Chupunggambyeolgok” (추풍감별곡 Song of the sentimental flow of time as the autumn wind blows), and “Honggildongjeon” (홍길동전 The Story of Hong Gildong). Among them, “Chunhyangjeon” and “Honggildongjeon” are revised versions of the Japanese translations that were published in Hanguk gojeon munhak jeonjip (한국고전문학전집 Complete Works of Classic Korean Literature) Volume 1.

한국 고전문학 가운데 현대 한국인의 정서에 여전히 많은 울림을 주는 세 작품 - 『춘향전』, 『추풍감별곡』, 『홍길동전』 - 수록한다. 그 중에서도 『춘향전』과 『홍길동전』은 『한국고전문학전집(韓国古典文学全集)』 제1권에서 일본어 번역・출간된 것을 개정한 것이다.
