Plot

A Korean newspaper reporter uncovers a conspiracy to take control of Korea by smuggling Korean talent overseas and creating a brain drain. In order to foil this “Buy Korea” operation, which is being organized by a powerful foreign state, a number of individuals from various fields join forces.

2002년에 <바이 코리아>로 출간된 김진명의 장편소설이다. 2012년에 지금의 제목으로 바뀌어 개정판을 냈다. 작품은 한국의 우수한 두뇌를 해외로 빼돌리려는 '바이코리아'작전을 알게 된 주인공이 이를 저지하는 과정을 그리고 있다. 작가는 급변하는 세계질서 속에서 한국의 역할을 민족주의적인 시각으로 그리고 있다.

This novel by Kim Jin-myung was originally published under the title Buy Korea in 2002. The revised edition, retitled Samsung Conspiracy, was published in 2012. A nationalistic take on Korea’s place within the rapidly changing world order, the story follows an attempt to foil a conspiracy, known as “Buy Korea,” to trigger a massive brain drain from Korea and steal away its brightest minds.
