This is the first of the five-volume Hyeondae Hanguk munhakseonjip (현대한국문학선집 Anthology of modern Korean Literature), published by Tojusha from 1973 to 1976. It includes Choi In-hun’s “Gwangjang” (광장 The Square) and Hwang Sun-Won’s “Irwol” (일월 Sunlight, Moonlight). The translations were undertaken by poet and essayist Kim Soun, while Baek Seung-cheol provided explanatory notes.

This is one of the Korean fiction anthologies published in Japan in the 1970s. It features representative works of King Dongni and Pak Kyongni. The works were translated by poet Kim Soun, and the editorial committee included Kim Dongni, Lee O Young, and Hwang Sun-Won.
