    This is an introductory booklet on Eun Heekyung, produced for the 2005 Frankfurt Book Fair, where Korea participated as the Guest of Honor for the first time and hosted the Korean Literature Tour Program. The author was one of the 62 delegates selected by LTI Korea’s Delegation Selection Committee on the basis of the following criteria: representativeness, existing publications of translated works, and overseas marketability. The entire literature program was co-organized by the LTI Korea, the Frankfurt Book Fair Organizing Committee, Daesan Cultural Foundation, Paradise Cultural Foundation and the International Communication Foundation (ICF). The events started at the Leipzig Book Fair in March and finished with the Guest of Honor Program in October. The author participated in the main program in October and literary events in March. This 29-page booklet consists of: ‘Author’s Literary World’, ‘Analysis of A Gift from a Bird’, ‘Excerpt’, ‘Voices of the Author and Critics’, ‘Biography’ and ‘Bibliography’. The material was put together and analyzed by Park Jeong-joon, and translated by Kang Yeo-Kyu ad Jan Rolf Janowski. The photographs were taken by Han Young-hee. Eun Heekyung participated in literary events in Leipzig and Dresden (March) and at the Frankfurt Book Fair Korean Pavilion and Bad Berleburg (October). The German translation of her work A Gift from a Bird was published in 2005.

His work ‘Southerners, Northerners’ was included in his short story collection of the same title published in German in 2002.

Lim Chulwoo participated in literary events at the Leipzig Book Fair and the Jena History Museum in March and then at the Frankfurt Book Fair Korean Pavilion and Kunsthalle Darmstadt in October. The German translation of his short story collection published in 2003 includes ‘The Red Room’.

Her work ‘The Fruit of My Woman’ is included in the collection of Korean short stories published by dtv in 2005.

Hwang Sok-yong participated in literary events in Leipzig (March, Leipzig Book Fair), Cologne, Düsseldorf (April), Hamburg, Lüneburg (May), Berlin (September), Frankfurt (House of Literature) and Bad Berleburg (October). As one of the 12 Masters of Korean Literature, he was introduced at the Frankfurt Book Fair Korean Pavilion—with a large photograph and a list of his major works and translated titles. The German translation of his work Mr. Han’s Chronicle was published by dtv in 2005.
