This is an introductory booklet on Lim Chulwoo, produced for the 2005 Frankfurt Book Fair, where Korea participated as the Guest of Honor for the first time and hosted the Korean Literature Tour Program. The author was one of the 62 delegates selected by LTI Korea’s Delegation Selection Committee on the basis of the following criteria: representativeness, existing publications of translated works, and overseas marketability. The entire literature program was co-organized by the LTI Korea, the Frankfurt Book Fair Organizing Committee, Daesan Cultural Foundation, Paradise Cultural Foundation and the International Communication Foundation (ICF). The events started at the Leipzig Book Fair in March and finished with the Guest of Honor Program in October. Lim Chulwoo participated in the Leipzig Book Fair and literary events in March and the main program in October. This 25-page booklet consists of: ‘Author’s Literary World’, ‘Analysis of The Red Room’, ‘Excerpt’, ‘Voices of the Author and Critics’, ‘Biography’ and ‘Bibliography’. The material was put together and analyzed by Seo Young-chae, and translated by Kim Ji-hyun. The photographs were taken by Han Young-hee. Lim Chulwoo participated in literary events at the Leipzig Book Fair and the Jena History Museum in March and then at the Frankfurt Book Fair Korean Pavilion and Kunsthalle Darmstadt in October. The German translation of his short story collection published in 2003 includes ‘The Red Room’.
