2002년에 출간된 이인화의 소설집이다. 표제작을 비롯하여 <려인(麗人)>, <초원을 걷는 남자>, <말입술꽃>등 모두 5편이 수록되어 있다. 작가는 수록된 작품에서 몽골이라는 공통의 배경을 토대로 하여 사랑, 상실, 인연 등에 관한 이야기를 하고 있다. 특히 고려여인과 몽골인의 사랑, 자신의 운명을 비관하여 자살한 고려시대의 시인, 현실의 고통을 견디지 못해 몽골로 사라진 시인 등의 이야기는 현실이 아닌 공간을 통해 현재를 돌아보게 만든다.

This short story collection by Lee In-hwa was published in 2002. It contains five short stories set in Mongolia, including “A Goryeo Person,” “Man Walking in the Meadow,” “Horselip Thistle,” and the title story. The stories deal with love, loss, and relationships, all shown through stories about the love between a Mongolian man and a Goryeo woman; a poet from the Goryeo dynasty who commits suicide after feeling pessimistic about his fate; a poet who runs off to Mongolia to escape the pain of reality; and others.
