Sukhyang is born of royal blood, but she becomes orphaned. With the help of the animals and people she meets, she finds love and also becomes reunited with her parents.

조선시대 작가미상의 고전소설이다. 3책, 2책으로 전해져 온다. <숙향전>은 <요조슉향전>, <이화정기>, <이화정기우기>, <이화정기적> 등으로 불리기도 하고, 한글본, 한문본, 목판본, 필사본, 활자본이 모두 전해져 내려온다. 작품은 주인공 숙향의 영웅서사라고 할 수 있다.

The date and author of the story are unknown, and it is told with the narrative structure of a romance or a heroic epic. The story has different titles: The Story of Lady Sukhyang, The Story of Yi Hwa, or The Story of Yi Hwa and Her Reunion. There are extant versions of the story including a handwritten manuscript in Korean, a woodblock print edition in Korean, a handwritten manuscript in classical Chinese, and an edition printed with Korean movable type.
