Plot
When the narrator (Prince Kim) turns 15, his parents die of cholera, and his brother is imprisoned in Seodaemun Prison. The narrator follows a Frenchman named Marcel Gabriel to Alexandria. There, he meets Sarah Angel, a dancer, and a German man named Hans. Hans has come to Alexandria for Endret, who killed his brother, and succeeds in his revenge with the help of Sarah Angel. Sarah and Hans are sent on an exile, and they marry.
