A decade ago, after Jin-myeong's twin brother, Seon-myeong, dies in a car accident, Jin-myeong and his parents leave Seoul to move to the countryside of Chungcheong Province. After the car accident, Jin-myeong keeps on hearing a Japanese sentence “I am Kosuke” in his injured ear, but he can’t figure out why and so he leaves it alone. Years later, Jin-myeong sees a picture with the Sapporo clock tower in the background at a restaurant and thinks that the tower looks familiar. Remembering the tower in the picture, Jin-myeong goes to Sapporo alone. Upon arriving in Sapporo, Jin-myeong stays at an inn, where he finds out that the owner's name is “Kosuke,” whom Seon-myeong had always mentioned, and finds a picture of himself and a letter from Seon-myeong in the owner's room.
