Released in 1987, this play by Yi Hyon-hwa was staged by the Cecil Theater in the same year. In 1988,  the play received the Best Drama Award from the Seoul Performing Arts Festival, and the Baeksang Play Award. The story begins with a group of actors who are practicing for a historical play when a murder takes place among them. The story includes the Qing invasion, the signing of the Japan-Korea Treaty of 1905, and the battle of General Gyebaek and the Baekje army against the Silla forces at Hwangsanbeol. The play deliberately blurs the boundary between reality and storytelling, and acting and real life.

1987년에 발표된 이현화의 희곡이다. 1987년 극단 세실에서 초연되었으며 같은 해 서울연극제 희곡상을 수상하고, 1988년 한국백상예술대상을 수상했다. 작품은 사극 공연을 연습 중이던 배우가 무대 위의 다른 배우를 돌발적으로 살해하는데서 시작한다. 조선시대의 병자호란, 을사녹약 등 커다란 사건 앞에서 갑론을박하는 지도자들의 이야기와 황산벌 전투의 계백 장군의 이야기를 교차, 대비하여 비판한다. 특히 이 작품은 관객에게 실제와 연기를 혼동하게 만들고, 현실과 가상의 경계를 허무는 시도를 한 작품으로 평가를 받고 있다.
