2008년에 출간된 시인 김혜순의 아홉 번째 시집이다. <첫>, <모래여자> 등 60편의 시가 수록되어 있다. 시 <첫>은 의도적으로 '첫'이라는 단어 뒤에 와야만 하는 명사를 생략함으로써 무한한 가능성의 시적 공간을 열어둔다. 시인은 이 공간 속에 '몸'과 관련된 이미지들을 불어넣음으로써 실존적인 의미를 갖는 공간을 만든다. 독창적인 상상력과 이를 표현하는 언술로 높은 평가를 받는다.

Published in 2008, this ninth collection by Kim Hyesoon introduces 60 of her poems including “First” and “Sand Woman.” In “First,” the poet opens up infinite possibility by intentionally omitting a word which should follow the word “first,” and in that possibility, she invokes images related to the body and thereby endows that space to have a physical meaning. She is a wonderfully skilled writer with a unique sensibility and imagination.
