2009년에 출간된 김기택 시인의 다섯 번째 시집이다. 표제시인 <껌>을 포함하여 56편의 시가 수록되어 있다. 이 시집에서 화자는 풍경과 대상에 몰입하여 인간이 불러오는 대상에 대한 주체의 폭력이 철저하게 배제된다. 사물의 입장에서 인간의 삶은 온통 폭력과 파괴로 점철되어 있으며, 인간은 그러한 기반 위에서 삶을 영위한다. 시인의 깊은 사유와 번뜩이는 감각적 비유로 높은 평가를 받는다.

Published in 2009, this fifth collection introduces Kim Ki-taek’s 56 poems including his title poem “Gum.” Kim’s poetry focuses on human physicality and the relationship between the body and the violence inflicted upon it. Human life is marked by a series of violence and destruction upon which people build their lives. The poet is known for his in-depth contemplation and observation of life, and for his unsentimental yet thought-provoking language.
