1946년 독일에서 출간된 이미륵의 장편소설이다. 1954년 영어로 영국에서 출간되었으며, 1956년에는 미국에서, 1959년에 한국에서 한국어로 번역 출간되었다. 작품은 작가의 유년시적 부터 독일 유학까지의 일들을 회상의 형식으로 기록한 자전소설이다.

This autobiographical novel written in German by Yi Mi-ruk was published in Germany in 1946. It was translated into English and published in the UK in 1954 and in the United States in 1956. It was translated into Korean and published in 1959. This autobiographical novel includes the writer’s childhood in Korea and his days as a student studying in Germany.
