This is a novel by Jo Hae-il, serialized in JoongAng Ilbo from January 1 to December 1975. Lee Hwa, the protagonist of the story, became very popular among the male readers, and the novel was adapted into a film of the same title and became a box office hit. However, it is also criticized as being antinomic, as it condemns the patriarchal ideology yet also uses a woman’s body as a tool to heal men.
