The best books of 2020 for your summer reading listEnglish(English) Author Interview
ABC News / December 12, 2020
If I Had Your Face by Frances Cha While the novel can be read as an indictment of gender inequality in South Korea (a great companion read is Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982 by Cho Nam-Joo), it is never moralistic about the women's choices, and revels in their love of K-Pop. It provides a fascinating insight into a class of people whose worlds are often hidden, in the same way that the Oscar-winning film Parasite highlights the social inequalities in South Korean society.
