Plot

One winter, at the age of seventeen, a young girl decides she would prefer not to speak aloud. Later, as a divorced grown woman who has lost custody of her son, she loses the will to speak entirely. On a whim, she decides to take lessons in Greek, a language for which she has no use in real life. Her instructor has a great craving for light, as he is gradually losing his eyesight. Intrigued by each other, they share their stories of trauma and grow to depend on each other.
