黃昏時刻，晚霞火紅，天空彷彿滴著鮮血。村子的風景似明忽暗。山坡上，金黃色的高梁穗輕輕搖曳著。風景如此甜美如此悲哀，因為故鄉朦朧到彷彿是他鄉。

在故鄉朴籍村，小女孩享受著爺爺奶奶的疼愛，在鄉間盡情的撒野遊玩，採集花草吹出哀傷的旋律。

後來，她來到大城市漢城就讀。漢城也有山，她每天得翻過光禿禿的仁王山麓去上學，可是那麼多鄉下隨處可見的草葉哪裡去了？她宛如一頭受傷的獸，滿山的跑著，尋找那酸酸甜甜的酸模草，那味道承載著她對故鄉的記憶。

再後來，戰爭發生了。女孩和媽媽哥哥在城裡搬了一次又一次的家，而他們鄉下的家就快失去了。戰爭改寫了人的命運，也抹去了故鄉的意義。
