2007년에 출간된 김애란의 소설집이다. 표제작을 비롯하여 <도도한 생활>, <성탄특선>, <칼자국> 등 모두 8편의 단편이 수록되어 있다. 작가는 소설적 공간으로 여인숙, 반지하 방 등을 사용하고 그곳에서 힘들게 일상을 지내는 인물들을 통해 삶의 비애뿐 아니라  꿈꾸는 자들의 우주를 보여주고 있다.

This collection of short stories by Kim Ae-ran was published in 2007. It contains eight short stories, including the title story, “The Holy Life,” “Christmas Special,” and “Knife Marks.” Using various spaces, such as a motel and a semi-basement room, as the backdrop for her fiction, the author depicts the hopes, dreams, and disappointments of the inhabitants.
