This book presents a selection of representative classic Korean essays. It features 125 works from Korea after the Goryeo Dynasty, including essays from Ilyeon’s Samguk Yusa (삼국유사 Legends and History of the Three Kingdoms of Ancient Korea), excerpts from Yi Inro’s Pahanjip (파한집 Jotting to Break Up Idleness), and parts of Yi Kyu-bo’s Donggukisanggukjip (동국이상국집 Written Works of Goryeo Prime Minister Yi Kyu-bo).

이 책은 한국의 대표적인 고전 산문을 소개한다. 일연의 『삼국유사』에 실린 산문들을 포함하여 이인로의 『파한집』의 일부, 이규보의 『동국이상국집』 의 일부 등 고려 이후 한국을 대표하는 고전 산문 125편을 수록하고 있다.
