1992년에 출간된 최인훈의 희곡집으로 최인훈 전집 제10권이다. 표제작인 <옛날 옛적에 훠어이 훠이>는 1976년9월 계간지<세계의 문학>창간호에 발표된 최인훈의 희곡이다. 표제작을 포함하여  <어디서 무엇이 되어 만나랴>, <봄이 오면 산에 들에>, <둥둥 낙랑 둥> 등 모두 7편의 희곡이 수록되어 있다. 작가는 신화적 모티프, 한국적 심상, 순우리말의 빛깔 등을 사용하여 희곡이 아니면 담아내기 어려운 주제와 이야기를 다루었다.

Published in 1992, this is the tenth volume of Choi In-Hun’s collected plays. The title play “Once Upon a Long Time Ago” was originally published in the debut issue of the quarterly World Literature in September 1976. Including the title play, there are seven plays in total, such as “Where Shall We Meet Again?”, “In the Mountains and Fields When Spring Comes,” and “Dungdung Nakrangdung.” The author uses folktale motifs and imagery in his plays.
