Plot

A newspaper editor receives the diary of a Korean person living in China. The diary was written from 1938 to 1998 by Lee Jinseon, an intellectual living in North Korea. The diary includes major events in modern Korean history as well as Lee Jinseon’s personal tragedies and painful love story.
