Plot

Simcheong is a girl who looks after her blind father. She sells herself for 300 sacks of rice so that her father can regain his sight. She is rescued by the Dragon King of the Sea, who returns her to land, and she becomes reunited with her father.

조선시대 작자미상의 고전소설이다. 설화가 소설화된 작품으로 1912년 소설가 이해조가 <강상련(江上蓮)>으련로 개작한 것이다. 병든 아버지를 부양하는 딸 심청의 효심(孝心)이 중심인 이야기다.

The writer of this classical story is unknown, and it was written as a novel with the title Gangsanryon (The Lotus Floating on a River) by Lee Haejo in 1912. Filial piety is the main theme of the story.
