Plot

The narrator leaves North Korea and takes refuge in Busan, where he works on the docks. Then, he finds a job as an apprentice at a noodle factory, where he meets people with various experiences.

This is a novel by Lee Ho-cheol, serialized in Sedae (Generation) from July 1964 to August 1965. It depicts another aspect of the Korean War, set in Busan, which was a temporary capital during the Korean War. Centering on a noodle factory, where the main character works, this novel depicts people of various classes during the war, revealing the chaos brought on by the war.

1964년 7월부터 1965년 8월까지 <세대>에 연재된 이호철의 장편소설이다. 이 작품은 한국 전쟁기 임시 수도였던 부산을 배경으로 전쟁의 또 다른 측면을 묘사한다. 주인공이 일하고 있는 제면소를 중심으로 전쟁 시기 다양한 계층의 인간상을 형상화하여 전쟁기의 혼란상을 드러내고 있다.
