1997년에 출간된 정호승 시인의 다섯 번째 시집이다. 70편의 시가 3부로 나뉘어 수록되어 있다. 정호승은 비극적인 현실 세계에 대한 비판과 사랑의 외로움을 절제된 서정으로 형상화하는 시인으로 알려져 있다. 이번 시집에서는 기존의 기독교적 색채에서 벗어나 불교적 상상력를 보여준다. 상처와 아픔을 다스리기 위한 내면의 몸부림을 시를 통해 만날 수 있다.

Published in 1997, this fifth collection of Jeong Ho-seung’s poems is divided into three parts and introduces 70 of his poems.  Presented with lyrical grace, the poems deal with social difference and division, and with the loneliness of love. Jeong evokes Buddhist images in this collection, unlike his previous poems in which he employs Christian images. The poems in this collection express the struggle to accept and overcome one’s pain and hurt.
