2016년에 출간된 김혜순의 열한 번째 시집 <피어라 돼지>에 수록된 연작시다. 전체 4부로 구성된 시집에서 1부인 <돼지라서 괜찮아>는 총 15편의 시로 이루어져 있다. 시인은 2011년 구제역으로 인해 수십, 수백만 마리의 돼지가 생매장을 당하는 것을 보고 이 그로테스크한 장면을 시로 묘사한다. 이 작품에서 돼지는 세상의 모든 약자를 상징하며, 그들이 당하는 폭력, 비참한 삶들을 비판한다.

Published in 2016, this poem is included in Kim Hyesoon’s eleventh collection titled Pigs Blossom. “I’m OK, I’m Pig” is the first chapter of the collection with 15 of her poems. When thousands of pigs were slaughtered due to the spread of foot-and-mouth disease in 2011, the poet captured the grotesque slaughtering of these animals in her poem, in which she criticizes the violence and misery inflicted on them as well as the weak in this world.
