This is a poetry anthology by poet Yang Sungwoo, published in 1977. The titular poem “Gyeoul gonghwaguk (Repulic of winter)” contains criticisms accusations of the Yushin Regime in 1970s Korea. Yang Sungwoo was fired from his position as a high school teacher because of this poem, and afterward, he wrote poetry against the dictatorship. This anthology is considered to embody people's emotions while maintaining a sharp gaze on the contradictory reality.

1977년에 출간된 시인 양성우의 시집이다. 표제시인 <겨울공화국>은 1970년대 유신 체제의 부당함을 비판하고 고발하는 내용을 담고 있다. 양성우는 이 시로 인해 고등학교 교사직을 파면당했으며, 이후 본격적으로 독재 체제에 저항하는 시를 썼다. 모순적 현실에 대한 날카로운 시선을 유지하며 민중의 정서를 형상화하는 시집으로 평가된다.
