在女兒離婚後，美子與外孫相依為命，靠領取國家的生活補助金為生，偶爾也會到有錢人家幫半身不遂的老人洗澡賺點零用錢。但某天，突然得知自己罹患阿茲海默症的美子，開始將自己活著的希望寄託在寫詩上。在詩裡，她可以遠離殘酷的現實，感受到久違的溫暖和慰籍。

因外孫涉及社會案件，美子陷入了被「美詩」與「惡世」拉扯的困境。美子想遠離「惡世」，但其他加害者的家長卻不斷將她拽入深淵。外孫的麻木與不知懺悔、共犯家長的自私和涼薄、有錢人家子女的冷漠無情......所有的一切都在將美子一步步推入「惡世」。但她抓住了「詩」這根救命稻草艱難地走上了自贖之路。
