This is a Cover Feature essay of KLN Vol. 59. Under the theme of “Humans, Born from the ace of the Persecuted,” critic Jeon Seung-min discusses Kim Nam-sook’s “Paju” and illustrates how literature portrays the victims of violence attempting to free themselves from the past through self-mourning.
