송찬호(시인)

송찬호(1959년 ~ )는 대한민국의 시인이다.
2. 생애
송찬호는 1959년 충청북도 보은에서 태어나 경북대학교 독어독문학과를 졸업했다. 1987년 『우리 시대의 문학』에 「금호강」 등을 발표하며 작품 활동을 시작했다. 2000년 제13회 동서문학상, 제19회 김수영문학상, 2008년 제8회 미당문학상, 2009년 제17회 대산문학상, 2010년 제3회 이상시문학상을 수상했다.
3. 작품 세계
송찬호는 상상적인 화법과 언어에 대한 실험적인 정신을 바탕으로 시의 서정성을 보여주는 대표적인 시인이다. 그의 시 세계는 존재론적 성향과 미학주의라는 충동을 통해 시적 긴장감을 창출한다. 가령 첫 시집 『흙은 사각형의 기억을 갖고 있다』(1989)에서 그는 출구가 없는 닫힌 공간의 사각형 이미지를 통해 원초적 고통인 죽음을 탐구한다. 두 번째 시집 『10년 동안의 빈 의자』(1994)에서는 언어의 순수성 회복 및 언어와 세계의 확장을 그려 보였으며, 『붉은 눈, 동백』(2000)에서는 특유의 식물적 상상력을 선보인 바 있다. 네 번째 시집 『고양이가 돌아오는 저녁』(2009)에서는 문명에 대한 비판적인 자세를 견지하면서, 동화적이고 신비스러운 마법적 상상력을 풀어내는 방식으로 신화적 자연주의를 재발견하고 있다. 그의 다섯 번째 시집 『분홍 나막신』(2016)은 이러한 존재에 대한 성찰을 더욱 깊게 진행해 나간다. 이에 대해 이재복 평론가는 ‘송찬호의 시에는 고전적인 품격이 내재해 있으며 이것은 말과 존재에 대한 깊이 있는 모색의 결과물’이라고 말한다. 그의 시는 단순한 기교나 형식 논리의 차원을 넘어 의식과 대상, 발견과 탈은폐, 상징과 이미지 등 미학적인 차원을 아우르는 모색의 과정에 다름 아니다.

Introduction
Song Chanho (Hangul 송찬호; born 1959) is a South Korean poet.
Life
Song Chanho was born in Boeun, South Korea in 1959. He studied German language and literature at Kyungpook National University. He began his literary career in 1987 when several of his poems including “Geumhogang” (금호강 Geumho River) were published in the journal Literature of Our Age. He won the 13th Dongsuh Literary Award and 19th Kim Su-Young Literary Award in 2000, the 8th Midang Literary Award in 2008, the 17th Daesan Literary Award in 2009, and the 3rd Yi Sang Poetry Award in 2010.
Writing
Song Chanho writes experimental lyric poetry. His poems create a tension between ontological and aesthetic impulses. His first poetry collection Heulgeun sagakhyeongui gieogeul gatgoitda (흙은 사각형의 기억을 갖고 있다 The Soil Has the Memory of a Square) (1989) portrays the primal pain of death through the image of a square that has no exit. His second poetry collection Sipnyeon donganui bin uija (10년 동안의 빈 의자 The Chair That Remained Empty for Ten Years) (1994) deals with recovering linguistic purity and expanding the scope of language and the world. Bulgeun nun, dongbaek (붉은 눈, 동백 Red Eyes, Camellia) (2000) uses plants as a primary motif, while The Night of the Cat's Return (고양이가 돌아오는 저녁) (2009) criticizes civilization and depicts mythical naturalism with fantastical motifs. Song’s fifth poetry collection Bunhong Namaksin (분홍 나막신 Pink Wooden Shoes) (2016) reflects on existence in more depth. Regarding this collection, literary critic Lee Jae-bok writes that “Song Chanho’s poetry has a classical elegance as the result of his deep reflection on language and existence.”
